Yay, today we’re celebrating the MFT March Release! I’m doing so with an interactive card with flowers that bloom.

It uses a simple double slider mechanism and when you pull on the tab, the flowers grow revealing a surprise. You can see it in action in the animated GIF below:
I hope the word “bloom” is readable although you can’t see it completely. I used letters from the Pumped-Up Alphabet Die-namics and should have done some partial die cutting to make them a smidge taller. Another option would have been to adhere them to acetate strips and the acetate strips to the cellophane.

This is not my first card with growing flowers… HERE is one with three flowers, which includes a video tutorial, that I created three years ago. HERE’s a magic color slider card (remake of a cool Hallmark card).

Today’s card features the adorable girl from the PI Grow Together set. To color her I used the following Copic markers:
- Hair: E37, E35, E31
- Skin: E04, E11, E21, YR000, R20, R00
- Blouse and boots: R24, R22, R20
- Skirt: B97, B95, B93
- Watering can: Y17, Y15, Y13
- Outline: G43

It was obvious that she would pair nicely with the flowers from the BB Spring Gnomes stamp set. Luckily I had a bunch of left overs from my Easter wreath card….

Check out the product gallery at the end of this post for more information about my card. Thank you for your visit! Happy shopping at the MFT Store!
