Retro phone card with embossed background

Retro phone card for Day 2 of the MFT Vault Release Countdown.

Hi there! It’s time to kick off the brief MFT May Vault Release Countdown and I’m doing so with a cool retro phone card featuring the awesome Ring Me Die-namics.

I started by embossing the gorgeous Typewriter Text Background on a piece of Ken Oliver Watercolor Paper. Next, I did some ink smooshing with the following Distress Oxide Inks: Broken China, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber and Evergreen Bough.

I then die cut it with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and adhered it to an A2 card base of Tropical Teal Card Stock. For the table cloth I chose a piece of patterned paper from the Colorful Canvas Paper Pad. I die cut it with the previously mentioned die and stamped one of the sentiments from the Ring Me set on it, with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink.

It was so fun to die cut and assemble the retro phone! I used Black Licorice Card Stock, Smooth White Card Stock, Silver Shine Card Stock and Heavyweight Translucent Vellum for the pieces.  The heart in the middle was die cut with one of the dies from the Band-Aids Die-namics.

For the cord I used a piece of packaging wire that I found in my scrap room. I wrapped it around a crochet needle and adhered it to the back of the card stock pieces with Scor-Tape. I hope you enjoyed my card! Don’t forget to stop by the MFT YouTube Channel or MFT Blog for more inspiration!
