Hi there! For this month’s Outside the Box Challenge at the MFT Blog, we’re asking you to create a box card with balloons.

I played with the Pumped-Up Alphabet Die-namics to add the Birthday Girl’s name. I was also going to add her age (six) but I just couldn’t squeeze it in.

First of all, I created the structure using dies from the Outside the Box Level Up Die-namics as well as Sno Cone and Sour Apple card stock. I also die cut strips of grass out of the latter with the Outside the Box Grassy Hills Die-namics. To give them some nice texture, I splattered diluted Sour Apple and Jalapeño Popper Premium Dye Inks on them.

Once the inside was done, I spruced up the outside of the box with some patterned paper from the Poppin’ Polka Dots Paper Pad. I also added a stitched white strip with a sentiment from the BB Birthday Buds set.

Next, I die cut the balloon letters out of Smooth White Card Stock and colored them with the following Copic markers: R27, R24, R22, YR68, YR65, YR61, Y17, Y15, Y13, G16, G14, G12, BG05, BG02, BG01, BG00, BV02, BV01 and BV00. I used the same red, blue and purple for the dresses (and bow) of the sweet bunnies. For their fur I went with W5, W3, W1, E55, E53 and E51. I also used the three browns for the little flower cart to which the balloon strings are attached.

I adhered them in such a way that they would fit inside of a A2 envelope. The trickiest part was to tie the thin silver thread around the knots. As a last touch, I added some tiny rainbow colored enamel stars.

I hope you enjoyed my box card and feel inspired to participate in the May Outside the Box Challenge at the MFT Blog. You could be the lucky winner of a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique!
