Hello again! We’ve reached the last day of the MFT October Release Countdown and I’m celebrating with a whimsical Christmas card featuring three penguin kings.
Traditionally, in Spanish speaking countries, it’s the three wise men (or three kings) who bring the Christmas gifts on 6 January. When I saw the little crown in the
Polar Opposites stamp set, I thought it would be fun to reference this tradition, in my card.
As (almost) always, I started with my background and die cut the gorgeous Framed Greetings Cover-Up out of Smooth White Card Stock. Then I adhered it to a patterned paper from the Christmas Cheer Paper Pad. I trimmed the edges and attached it to an A2 card base of Sno Cone Card Stock.
What a quick way to make a gorgeous background! You could also use this die to inlay the inside pieces, die cut in another color. A couple of my teammates have done just that, so be sure to check out
their cards. In my
Day 4 card, I used only the inside pieces, which also looks great.
Back to today’s card… I took advantage of the clear space in the middle, to stamp the sentiment from the beautiful
Mini Merry Messages set, in
Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. I also used the same ink to stamp the three little penguin kings on some Copic friendly card stock. For the coloring, I used the following markers: YR24, YR21, E50, W1, W00, YR00, YR61.
After fussy cutting and adhering the penguins to my card, as a last touch, I added three clear enamel dots from the Clear Round Drops – Mix One. I also applied Glossy Accents to the eyes and beaks. That’s it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by and do come back tomorrow, to celebrate the MFT October Release.
