I’ts time for a new Weekly Sketch Challenge (WSC505) at the MFT Blog and I’m popping by to inspire you with a cute pirate card.

First, let’s have a look at the sketch… it’s perfectly symmetrical with two layered 3.5″ squares and a banner. It couldn’t be any easier to recreate!

Next, I stamped the little scene with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored it with the following Copic markers:
- Sky: B000
- Skin and hair: E04, E11, E21, E000, YR27, YR24, YR21
- Clothes: R37, R35, E37, E35, E33, W10, W7, W5, BG15, BG13, BG11, C3, C00
- Parrot: W10, W7, W5, B06, B04, B02, Y17, Y15, C00
- Treasure chest: YR27, YR24, YR21, E57, E55
- Sand: E37, E35, E33, E53, E51, E50

I followed the sketch for WSC505 almost to a tee… the only thing that I changed was the placement of the Heavyweight Translucent Vellum banner. It would have covered the boy’s neck and it didn’t look good, so I lowered it just a bit.

I asked my son for a couple of Playmobil gold coins, but he didn’t want to give them to me, so I used golden enamel dots to finish my pirate card. That’s all from me for today… I hope you join us at the MFT Blog for this fun challenge. Remember, there is a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Store at stake!

Before you go, you might want to have a look at THIS other pirate card, that I made a couple of years ago for the “Coloring Virtuoso” category of the 2018 Card Design Superstar challenge. It seems like ages ago! ^_^
