Gingham card for MFT July Card Kit Release

Yay, it’s time for the MFT July Card Kit Release and I’ve made a really sweet gingham card in pink, that I hope you’ll enjoy!

Just like my first card for the countdown, the interactive hot air balloon card, it features the adorable Best Adventure Bears stamp set.

I started by stamping and masking the sweet image, so that I could ink the background with the Cloud Stencil and Cotton Candy Premium Dye Ink. Then I did some paper piecing with the Petite Gingham Paper Pad. To make the balloon look a little more dimensional, I turned the pink, yellow and blue gingham patterned papers 45 degrees before stamping them.

I then trimmed the pieces a little bit before adhering some Stick-It double sided adhesive sheet to the back. Next, I fussy cut the balloon slivers… I was careful to include the black outline on the blue and pink pieces, but not on the yellow ones. That way they fit together perfectly!

To make things easier, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the bears head, so that I could adhere it on top of my paper pieced balloon, instead of having to adapt the balloon pieces to it.

I forgot to mention, that I die cut my panel with the A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics, before the paper piecing. Then, I die cut the frame a second time in white card stock backed with white fun foam, to make it more dimensional.

I adhered the ensemble to a white cardbase with a panel of pink and white gingham, diecut with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, in the middle. As a last touch I added some tiny pink enamel stars and that’s it! I hope you enjoyed all of my posts for the MFT July Card Kit Release Countdown. Happy shopping!
