Hello! Just like that we’re down to the final day of the month! I made a cute and simple card with a beach scene, for the MFT June Hits & Highlights feature. As you might have guessed, the theme of this month is; surf, sand, & sun.
The card features the adorable girl from the BB Drink up the Sunshine stamp set, that I colored with Copic markers (E11, E21, E000, E57, E55, E53, E51,BG18, BG13, BG23, B02, B01, R22, R20, Y17, Y15, Y13) and fussy cut, before I adhered her to my little beach scene with thin foam squares.
To create the ocean, I ink blended both Heavyweight Translucent Vellum and Smooth White Card Stock with Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink. I then die cut the upper edges of my 4″ wide panels with dies from the Ocean Motion Die-namics.
For the sand dune, I mixed Fossilized Amber and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks. To create texture, I splattered a bunch of diluted ink on my panel, which I then die cut with one of the dies from the Snowy Scene Builder Die-namics. After stamping the sentiment with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, I went in with some Versamark to be able to emboss it with clear embossing powder.
I added a second coconut drink from the same stamp set, which I also fussy cut, as an invitation to the recipient of the card and to highlight the word “soon”.
