Interactive baby card

Hi there! Today I’m stopping by to show you a simple interactive baby card that I shared as a reel on the MFT Instagram account.

It’s only one minute long, so I thought it would be a good idea to explain some of the steps in more detail… For that I made some screen captures of the video so I’m afraid the pictures aren’t top quality, but bare with me if you want to learn how to create this card…

Step by step instructions for interactive baby card

I started by doing some ink blending on a panel cut with the Money Card Die-namics with the Cloud Stencil and Summer Splash Premium Dye Ink.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Oh Baby stamp set on it and used the slit die from the above mentioned Die-namics set and the partial die cutting technique to cut a 4 5/8″ (11,7cm) wide slit.

After I was done with my panel, I cut a onesie with a die from the It’s a Baby Die-namics both out of Smooth White Card Stock as out of a yellow striped paper from the Finishes and Textiles Paper Pad. I layered them with liquid glue to make it more sturdy.

The little rectangular pieces that you can see in the above picture are from the Interactive Up & Down Die-namics. They fold in half and I wrapped one of them around the upper and the other one around the lower edge of the slit. I repeated the operation a second time (in other words I used four of these rectangular pieces) and then I added Score-Tape both to the front of the pieces so that I could attach the onesie comfortably by the shoulders…

It was easier to do once I cut the corners of the front pieces with a pair of sharp scissors.

I also added double sided tape to the back pieces so that I could adhere them to the pull tab, cut out of two layers of Eiffel Tower Card Stock with the Pull Tab Slider Die-namics.
