Interactive card with dragonfly

Hello there! I made a volvelle card featuring a dragonfly with color changing wings for my monthly interactive card tutorial on the MFT YouTube Channel.

The adorable images are from the JB Wings & Wishes set and the sentiment is from the SY Beauty of Spring set. I also used the largest die from the Stitched Eyelet Lace Circle STAX Die-namics for my rotating wheel.

I’ve actually made a similar card with a color changing chameleon before, but I didn’t film the process to create a tutorial for it. In both cards I die cut windows with the matching dies, stamped the images on pieces of acetate and masked some elements with a white paint marker.

However, in this card I also fussy cut part of the image and inlaid it in the window so that only the wings of the firefly would change color. It’s a simple and useful trick that allows you to use almost any type of image to create this kind of interactive card… For the coloring I used the following Copic markers:

Gnome’s skin and beard: E11, E21, E00, R01, E37, E35, E33

Gnome’s hat and shoes: G07, G05, G03, G02, W10, W7

Firefly’s body: YR27, YR24, YR21

Flowers: G07, G05, G03, G02, G99, G94, YR27, YR24, YR21
