Hi there! It’s time for my monthly interactive card tutorial on the MFT YouTube Channel. I made a fun magnetic slider card with a UFO that I think you’ll enjoy!
Before telling you more about the card, let’s check it out in action in the video clip below.
First, I created the UFO by slightly modifying the shapes cut with the new MSTN Yellow Submarine Die-namics. The little alien is actually an octopus from the Oceans of Fun set. I just made his eyes bigger with a 0.1 multiliner pen. The sentiment is also from the same set. After heat embossing it in white on black card stock, I used one of the dies from the Skinny Strips to cut the banner.
The cute cow is from the BB The Whole Herd stamp set, one of my all time favorites! She’s beeing beamed up to the UFO and her face says it all, LOL!
The mechanism is so simple… As you can see in the TUTORIAL, you just need a sturdy slider panel (I stacked two panels of Black Licorice Card Stock) and a couple of thin magnetic snaps. I added the word “pull” from the Interactive Labels set.
For the ink blending I used the Grassy Edges Stencil and a bunch of Distress Oxide Inks. After applying the first layer of ink I masked off a triangle, with blue tape, to create the light beam. That’s all for today! Head on to the MFT YouTube channel for more!
