Interactive card with box of chocolates

Hello there! It’s time for another interactive card tutorial on the MFT YouTube Channel! I made a card featuring a box of chocolates that I hope you’ll enjoy.

Let me start by telling you that I saw the mechanism on the amazing Pop Up Channel. I just adapted the shape and measurements a little bit so that I could use it for my idea…

I started by using the dies from the Box of Chocolates Die-namics and the following colors of card stock to die cut all of my elements: Smooth White, Amarena Cherry, Milk Chocolate, Summer Splash, Kraft and

Gold Shine.

Next, I cut a 2” x 2 ½” (5cm x 6,3cm) little flap out of Smooth White Card Stock. In the screen capture below you can see all of the measurements and the very important score mark, which allows the lid to flip. In the tutorial you can see how I used a sharp craft knife to cut out the striped parts.

Next, I adhered two pull tabs (with liquid glue), cut with the Pull Tab Slider Die-namics, to the front and back of my flap (just below the dashed line).

I also cut a 7/8” x 1/8” (2,3cm x 3mm) slot in my main panel, which measures 3 ¾” x 5” (9,5cm x 12,7cm). I just marked the center of the panel and drew the slot with the help of a T-ruler to get it as straight as possible.
