Hi there! Today we’re kicking off the MFT April Release Countdown! I’m sharing an elegant card with hexagons and a touch of gold that I hope you’ll enjoy.
I started by doing some ink blending on a piece of Smooth White Card Stock with the following Distress Oxide Inks: Tumbled Glass, Salvaged Patina, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber. Next, I used the Peek-a-Boo Honeycomb Die-namics to die cut the hexagons.
Before popping them out of the die, I added little foam squares to the back of each one. I then adhered the whole thing to a panel cut with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. Actually, I eliminated one of the hexagons to create room for the sentiment banner (cut with the Skinny Strips Die-namics out of Black Licorice Card Stock).
The sentiment itself is from the Buzzing with Happiness set. It has some really cute bee gnomes so check it out! To finish the card I adhered it to a panel of Gold Shine Card Stock and then to a card base of Caribbean Sea Card Stock. I also added three gold hexagons to draw the eye to the sentiment.
