Hello there! Today, I’m sharing a tutorial on how to create this interactive falling Santa card, on the MFT YouTube Channel.

It features a bunch of products from the Christmas themed MFT October Release that are linked at the end of this blog post. You’ll also find a list of all of the measurements and Copic markers. Before I go into more detail, let’s check it out in action, in the video clip below:
The mechanism that I chose is the same as in THIS hidden content shaker card, but instead of using beads, I used a falling Santa. Isn’t he the cutest?

In the tutorial I share how I stacked three die cuts so that the image of Santa would be heavy and sturdy enough to take the fall. You can play with the card many times since you just need to tilt it and insert the pull tab to reset the mechanism.

It just occured to me that if you don’t have the matching die, you could stack three same sized rectangles of Copic friendly card stock and stamp Santa on the top layer. Then you would just color the background as dark as the firebox (hole of the fireplace). I would also round the corners of the rectangle so that it wouldn’t get stuck in the pull tab’s channel.

Hmmm, I can already imagine other interactive cards with a couple of independently sliding rectangles… Anyway, if you want to learn how to make this interactive card, check out the tutorial! Thanks for stopping by!
