Mini slimline box card with rocking boat

Hello there! It’s time for my monthly interactive card tutorial on the MFT YouTube Channel, where I’m sharing a nautical mini slimline box card with a rocking boat.

The cute piggies are from the YUZU Pig Time Fun set, while the boat and fishes are from the Ride or Dive set. I stamped them with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored them with the following Copic markers:

Pig skin: R02, R01, R00, E04
Red elements: R29, R27, R24, R22
Blue elements: B05, B04, B02, B000
Seagulls: W7, W5, W3, W1, W00, YR68, YR65
Boat: E37, E35, E33, W3
Fishes: B000, W1

Before I tell you more about the card let’s check out that rocking boat in action!

As you can see, to activate the movement, I’ve added a mechanism with a little pull tab, cut with dies from the Twist & Turn Interactive Die-namics. It hardly adds any bulk to the card, which still fits perfectly inside of a mini slimline envelope. Did you notice that there was a little surprise character behind captain piggy? What would a sea themed card be without a seagull?

The beautiful patterned paper is from the Stars & Stripes Paper Pad. To make the sentiment stand out against it, I cut a 4 5/16″ x 11/16″ (11cm x 1,7cm) strip of Red Hot Card Stock for it.

Panel: 4 7/8″ x 3 1/4″ (12,4cm x 8,2cm)- make hole at 2,5” (6,3cm) from the left edge and 3/8” (0,9cm) from the lower edge.

Pull tab: 5 1/4″ x 3/4″ (13,3cm x 1,9cm) – folded in half

Linkages: 2 3/4″ x 1/2″ (7cm x 1,3cm) – make new hole ½” (1,3cm) from one of the existing two holes
