Yay, it’s time to celebrate the MFT April Release and I’m doing so with a card featuring a cool pair of glasses and a fun sentiment!
I started by stamping the Best Friend Background stamp on a piece of Smooth White Card Stock. Next, I die cut it with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics.
I wanted to create the illusion of a blurry text, but didn’t have Heavyweight Translucent Vellum, so I instead layered two pieces of Translucent Vellum with a sheet of thin double sided adhesive. After testing the effect, I ran the vellum through my Big Shot with one of the dies from the A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics and the glasses from the new MSTN Stay Cool Die-namics.
I also die cut the glasses out of purple ink blended card stock and the letters out of Black Licorice Card Stock. After decorating them with Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents I inlaid them in the vellum. Although you can’t really tell from the pictures, I also used small pieces of acetate for the lenses.
To complete the sentiment, I die cut two sets of letters from the Connected Die-namics and wrote “sharp”. As a last touch I added matching enamel stars.
