Graphic card with birch trees for CC152

Handmade card with birch trees for Color Challenge 152 at MFT.

Hello! This week’s color challenge (CC152) at the MFT Blog, features a bold palette which inspired me to create a graphic card with the Birch Trees Die-namics.

I knew that the black and white trees would look good on a gray background and that the orange would add a fun touch of color. So I cut an A2 card base of Gravel Gray Prestige Card Stock and adhered some white panels inside, die cut with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, for added strength.

Then I went on to die cutting the trees out of Smooth White Card Stock backed with Scor-Tape. I adhered them to Black Licorice Prestige Card Stock and used a pair of scissors to cut along the outline. Next, I glued the birch trees to my cardbase, leaving enough room to the right, for the sentiment.

I chose the Miss You Die-namics, since these trees remind me of my native Finland and my family, who I haven’t seen since Christmas.

Lastly, I added the leaves, in two tones of orange and a matching enamel dot, to draw attention to the sentiment. That’s it for this clean and simple card, inspired by the CC152 palette:
