Card with penguins for June Birthday Project Challenge

Fun penguin party card for the June Birthday Project Challenge at MFT Stamps.

Hi there! For this month’s Birthday Project Challenge at the MFT Blog, I created a very simple card with the super cute Party Penguins stamp set and Premium Dye Inks.

My idea was to make a clean and simple card by stamping a bunch of masked penguins diretly onto a top fold A2 white cardbase. I hadn’t tried the mentioned stamp set yet and my fingers were itching to get to it…

I was going for a graphic silk screen look and these stamps really deliver. There was hardly a need for masks. I just stamped the penguins in such a way, that there wouldn’t be any black areas behind the party hats. I used Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and the following Premium Dye Inks; Poppy, Coral Crush, Berrylicious and Pineapple.

When I was done with the stamping, the card looked so simple that I decided to trim it and adhere the panel (with some fun foam) to a black cardbase. I also added drops of Glossy Accents to the eyes of the penguins.

I hope you create a Birthday party themed project and join us for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Store. Thank you for your visit! Tomorrow I’ll be back with an interactive card tutorial…
