Hello! It’s time for a new Weekly Sketch Challenge at the MFT Blog (WSC483). I made a CAS card with a modified sentiment using a bunch of “older” favorites of mine.
This week’s sketch is so perfect, that I followed it almost to a T. The only thing I did, was to flip it, so that the fishtail of the banner, points the other way. I used the tag from the Gift Tag Die-namics, to cut a window in my A2 panel and then I did some ink blending directly on the cardbase.

I used Premium Dye Inks in the following colors, for this: Blu Raspberry, Cornflower and Lavender Fields. After a soft first layer, I grabbed the Ray of Light Stencil to apply a second, and after moving it slightly, a third layer of ink. I can’t remember where I learned this technique… maybe from Sandy Allnock.

After that, I stamped the fish from the Gill Friends set, on some Copic friendly paper and colored them with the following markers; Y17, Y15, Y13, B06, B02, B01, B00, G14, G43, G40, Yr27, Yr68, Yr65, W3, W1 and W00.

And what about the modified sentiment? I simply:
- Masked the stamp from the Bitty Thanks and Gratitude set with some washitape before applying Versamark ink to it.
- Partially stamped it.
- Moved the piece of Blu Raspberry Card Stock slightly and carefully covered the already stamped text with scratch paper, to protect it.
- Stamped the rest of it, leaving out the “h” and heat embossed the modified sentiment in white.

I added a piece of acetate to the back of the panel, because I was going to create a shaker, but later changed my mind. It still fits the fishtank theme perfectly. As a last touch, I added some clear enamel dots.
I hope you enjoyed my simple card today. HERE’s a recent one where I modified one of the cute girls from the BB Unicorns and Glitter stamp set. As always, I now invite you to head on to the MFT Blog to check out what my DT teammates created for this challenge. Join us for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique!
