Fun table place holders for the MFT October Release Countdown launch

Fun Christmas place markers made with MFT dies.

Yay, it’s time to begin the five day countdown to the amazing MFT October Release! I’ve created a bunch of fun table place holders with the new Christmas Crew Die-namics.

I didn’t have any “skin” colored card stock for the elves, Santa and his wife, so I inked up some Smooth White Cardstock with Peach Bellini Premium Dye Ink. Then I diecut 4 of the Gift Card Pockets Die-namics out of it.

Instead of folding the die cuts according to the fold marks and gluing the tabs to the longer piece, I glued them onto themselves. That way the place holders can stand, slightly leaning backwards, which makes it easier to read each of the names.

I diecut the letters out of white cardstock (backed with Scor-Tape), using the Captions Alphabet Die-namics, but they stood out too much, so I used Copic markers to color them. The result is not perfect, but a layer of Glossy Accents or Wink of Stella would totally even out the color.

The Christmas Crew dies are so versatile! You could totally pair them up with basic shapes like circles for a more “realistic” look or add them to gift bags and of course mix and match to your heart’s desire.

I didn’t this time, mostly so that you can see what elements each of the die sets include. However, I still have to create a bunch more for each of the guests. 🙂

Santa and Mrs Santa place holders.

Mrs. Santa is the exception, because I did borrow the ears and the brim from the Christmas Crew – Santa Die-namics. The rest I created with dies from the Christmas Crew – Girl Elf Die-namics.

Did you notice that I used the collar die to create Mrs. Santa’s middle part? And since my mother Gitta has blue eyes, I gave her character those as well… That’s it for today! Head on over to the MFT Blog to check out what my talented teammates have created and leave a comment for a chance to win a $75 voucher to the MFT Boutique.
