For Day 3 of the MFT June Release Countdown, I’m sharing two cards with bold colors and a graphic look.
The first one is a one-layer card that features the cute
Fish You Were Here stamp set. I just die cut a bunch of fish out of masking paper using the
matching dies. Then I adhered them to my card panel and inked the background with different Distress Oxide Inks.
Before peeling off the masks, I used Distress Glaze to protect the ink blended background (it also enhances the color). Then I stamped the fish in
Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, die cut the panel with the largest die from the
A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and added some matching enamel dots. I love the contrast between the bold background and the black and white.
For my second card I also went with the crisp and graphic look…
I stamped the amazing You Are My Sunshine stamp with Versamark ink and used clear powder to emboss it with my heat gun. Then I lightly inked the background with Distress Oxide Inks. Next I used the Ray of Light Stencil and inked it for a second time. As with the first card, I applied a thin layer of Distress Glaze to protect the colors.
A little crafty tip: If you add enamel dots to a waxy surface, it’s better to use a strong liquid glue to adhere them.
That’s it for today, I just want to remind you that the June Release will be available on June 4 at 10 a.m. EDT. Head on to the
MFT blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a $75 gift voucher to the
MFT online store.
