A colorful sketch-based Birthday card for hubby

Colorful Birthday Card based on the sketch for the WSC437 at MFT.

Hello! Today I’m stopping by to show you a colorful Birthday card. I made it for my hubby, following the sketch for the WSC 437 (Weekly Sketch Challenge) at My Favorite Things.

I die cut a bunch of the circles from the Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics out of masking paper and placed them on my panel, following the sketch as closely as possible. Then I used Black Soot, Chipped Saphire, Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress inks to ink the background.

Circular masks and colorful inked background.
After peeling off the masks, I was left with six, perfectly white circles. The contrast was almost too stark, so I stamped the cute images from the You Gnome Me, BB Happy Hippos and Sweet Spring Friends in the circles and colored both them and the backgrounds in bold colors.

I also added a silver embossed sentiment on a vellum strip cut with one of the dies from the Essential Slanted Sentiment Strips.

As always, to finish the card, I added some drops of Glossy Accents here and there. And that’s it for today! HERE’s another colorful Birthday card that you can check out, while you’re here. Catch you next time!
