Horizontal seed bead shaker card for MFT Tips & Tricks

Hello, it’s time for the monthly MFT Tips & Tricks feature! Today I’m sharing tips on how to make a horizontal seed bead shaker card using one of the dies from the Falling from the Clouds Frame Die-namics.

I had a hunch that the comb pieces from the before mentioned die set, could be used horizontally, by placing one on each side of a card panel. So I inked a 6″ x 4 1/2″ (15,2 cm x 10,8 cm) piece of cardstock with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and attached the pieces with strips of foam tape.

Next I die cut a bunch of cute clothes out of card stock backed patterned paper, using the LLD Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics set. I then glued rows of beads to the back of them with some Glossy Accents. The pins helped to keep them in place, while the glue dried.

Next I chose the same thread and beads, that I used in my Piggy Pebbles Rain shaker card, to string two rows of clear seed beads, sandwiching the clothes in between.

To hide the notched or comb pieces, I simply die cut a frame out of a panel of Blu Raspberry Card Stock, measuring 6 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ (16,5cm x 13,1cm). For this I used the second largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I also made a thin white frame using the two largest dies from the same set.

For the sentiment, I simply embossed a phrase from the Essential Sentiments set on a strip of white cardstock (in platinum) and die cut it with one of the dies from the Skinny Strips Die-namics.
