Funny weather card for MFT & Friends

Yay, the May Release is now available in the online store, for your purchase! To celebrate, I’ve made a funny weather card featuring the BB Bring Out the Sunshine stamp set, that I hadn’t yet used.

The cute girl was so happy to put on her new summer clothes, that she didn’t keep in mind that spring weather is crazy. One minute it’s warm and sunny and the next minute it’s pouring rain! Her face is that of surprise and disbelief as she stands in a puddle of water, soaking wet.

I borrowed the raindrops from the SY Piggy Pebbles set and the puddle from the BB Rain or Shine set, to complete my scene. I simply turned the puddle stamp upside down to stamp the one to the right.

The perfect sentiment and the sun, are also from Birdie Brown’s set. I stamped them on the cloud border, die cut using the Falling from the Clouds Frame Die-namics and trimmed with a pair of scissors. If it weren’t for the cloud panel, my crazy weather card would be a one layer project.

I used a little bit of masking to ink the sky with some blue Distress Inks and colored the rest with a combination of Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencils. I ran out of white cardstock, so I ended up using both Black Licorice Prestige and Kraft card stock to frame my panel. Here are all of my May Release Count Down projects. Which one is your favorite?
