Welcome to Day 5 of the My Favorite Things March Release Countdown! I’m totally in love with the new release… there’s something for every taste. The products will be available in the MFT shop on Tuesday, March 12 at 10 a.m. EST.

My first project, as a member of this awesome Design Team, had to be an interactive card, of course. It was really fun and easy to make with the dies from the new Interactive Swing Die-namics. By the way, I can think of a bunch of uses for this genious set! I decided to create a 4″ by 7″ tall card, so that the cute Pure Innocence girl from the Start Each Day with a “Whee” stamp would have plenty of room to swing.

I started by stamping and masking the branches from the Forever and Owlways and the bird from the BB Happy Hippos stamp sets. Then I softly inked the panel with Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar Distress inks.

I stamped and colored the girl and fussy cut her… but If you look closely, you can see that she has an acetate outline. I knew that it would give the image more strength so I used the matching die for that. I also die cut the visible part of the mechanism out of acetate and the effect is really cool, because you can barely see it. One last detail that I added, were a couple of enamel dots to the back of the stamped image, so that there would be some distance between the swinging girl and the panel.
OK, let’s see the card in action!

Head on over to the MFT design blog and leave some love for a chance to win a $75 voucher to the MFT shop. There’ll be one random winner per Release Countdown day! From there you can visit the blogs of my team mates and check out what they’ve created with the products that are being revealed today… I’ll be back tomorrow with another fun card.
