A clean and simple interactive card with dancing gummy bears

A clean and simple interactive card with dancing gummy bears.

Hi there! Today I’m here to share a clean and simple interactive card with gummy bears, that I made for the new challenge at Create a Smile. This time we’re asking you to create something for a child. Most kids love candy and interactive cards, so I decided to use the bear from the stamp set Sweets & Treats and make a card with three dancing gummy bears.

I started by partially stamping the bear in red, yellow and green Memento ink and did some no-line coloring with Copic markers.

To make the gummy bears look as shiny as possible, I added some lines and dots with a white Sharpie marker. Then I fussy cut them and created a really simple sliding mechanism. There is a brad behind the head of each of the bears and a magnet behind their bellies. The corresponding magnets are glued to the sliding panel so when its pulled, the bears rotate.

Using magnets enables me to create a very clean and simple card panel, since there is no bulky mechanism to hide. This way the gummy bears and the sentiment get all the attention. I used Alphabet Stickers to write the phrase: “You are sweet/cute” in Swedish.

After the panel was done, I mounted it on some yellow and white polka dot paper and a white card base and added a couple of red, yellow and green enamel dots.

It’s always best to see an interactive card in action, so here’s a short video clip of mine:
