Continuing the “double scraplift” theme at 3flowers (you can see the result of my first one here), today it was time to be inspired by two wonderful Spanish cardmakers, that I admire very much, Rocío Escalada and Yolanda Garrido. Here’s the result:

Rocío’s card is pure perfection… I wouldn’t change a thing. I love the colour combination, the die-cut stain, the silver-coloured word and that special faux stiching.

Yolanda’s card is so sweet and fun with those whales, the canvas texture and blue glitter washi tape… Phew, this scraplift was a true challenge!

Vamos a ver si lo he conseguido…
A good scraplift doesn’t copy the original project, but is inspired by it, maintaining certain features but changing others. Let’s see if I have done a good job…

To make something different with Rocíos card, I decided to stamp three overlapping stains (using a Kaiser craft stamp) with pigment ink and transparent embossing powder. Let’s take a closer look at the effect:

Even though the colours have not actually blended, you can see a bit of orange and green in the middle… that’s due to the fact that pigment inks are not completely opaque.

Mmm, parece regaliz negro ^_^
I cut the sentiment out of black cardstock using a die from La Pareja Creativa and covered it with Clear Wink of Stella and some Glossy Accents… Mmm, it looks like black liquorice ^_^

Now let’s hace a look at my second card, inspired by Yolanda’s precious creation:
Now let’s hace a look at my second card, inspired by Yolanda’s precious creation:
For this card I used stamps by My Favorite Things, both for the brick wall (I stamped it with Versamark ink, clear embossed it and coloured it with a Copic marker) as for the gnome and sentiment (from the fun “You gnome me” set). Like Yolanda, I also used a bit of canvas and glitter in my scraplift.

The gnome, coloured with Copic markers, looks so “fashionable”, doesn’t he? ^_^ The message of my card is that the he would do anything for a friend, even jump over a high brick wall.
I hope you liked my cards… in a couple of days I’ll be back with my next two scraplifts. Have a great weekend!
