Dandelion card

Hace dos semanas el equipo de diseño de Yoy Scrap nos lanzó el siguiente reto:

Two weeks ago the design team at Yoy scrap came up with the following challenge:

Crear una tarjeta inspirada en esta foto…

Make a card inspired by this picture…

que contenga alguno/todos estos colores:

using some/all of the following colors:

Parecía un reto más o menos sencillo, pero para mí resultó ser uno de los más complicados en los que he participado hasta ahora… Tras varias pruebas y cuatro tarjetas (!), por fin os presento esta:

It seemed like an easy task…more or less, but to me it became one of the most complicated challenges I have ever taken part in. After several tests and four cards (!) I finally came up with this:

Una tarjeta bastante clean and simple usando una base de tarjeta blanca, cartulina en dos tonos de gris y un turquesa clarito precioso… el texto embosado en plata y un pequeño corazón rojo troquelado y cubierto de Wink of Stella y polvos de embossing transparentes.

A quite clean and simple card in which I used a white card base, two tones of grey and a beautiful light aqua cardstock… the sentiment (thinking of you) embossed in silver and a small red die cut heart covered with wink of stella and clear embossing powder.

Hasta el momento de fotografiarla se complicó por culpa del mal tiempo… esta mañana aproveché que por fin salió el sol después de tantos días de lluvia, pero hacía mucho viento y la tarjeta salía volando cada dos por tres… sería por el diente de león 😉

Even taking pictures of the card became complicated due to bad weather… this morning I grabbed my camera since the sun came out after many days of rain, but it was also very windy and the card kept flying away…like a real dandelion, I suppose 😉

Creo que lo que me resultó difícil de este reto fue usar una paleta de colores tan fría…al principio tampoco era capaz de centrarme en una sola idea (no paraba de pensar en plumas, capas de papel de cebolla, puntillas… cosas delicadas y bonitas).

I think part of the difficulty stemmed from using a palette of such cold colors and in the beginning I also had a difficult time focusing on just one idea ( I kept thinking of feathers, layers of vellum, lace… delicate and beautiful things).

Tenía un sello de diente de león, pero no me daba mucho juego así que busqué entre mis sellos una forma de crearlo yo misma. Mi idea era usar copos de nieve y algún tipo de rama, hasta que encontré este set de sellos de La Pareja Creativa sin estrenar:

I had a dandelion stamp, but it didn’t get my creative juices flowing, so I went through my stamp collection in search for a way to make the flower myself. Mi idea was to use snowflakes and some sort of stem, until I found this unopened set from La Pareja Creativa:

¡Era perfecto! Aquí tenéis los pasos que seguí para estampar el diente de león (aunque más tarde decidí usar polvos de embossing blancos):

It was perfect! Here is the way I stamped my dandelion (although I later decided to go with white embossing instead)
