¡Muy pronto disponible en español! Hello again! I’m back with an interactive slimline slider card that I created for the MFT August Birthday Project Challenge. Today is actually my son’s ninth Birthday, so I made it specifically for him.

This month we’re asking you to add an interactive component to your projects. I was dying to use the new Slimline Starter Die-namics, so making a slider card was a no-brainer for me. Let’s check it out in action, before I tell you more about the card…

As you can see, when we pull on the pulltab, a bunch of cute animals peek out from behind the letters. This idea would work even better with a shorter name and more space in between the letters. You could also use mountains, trees or houses, to totally cover the critters and create more of a surprise.

As you may now, I’m not a fan of leaving a white border around the die cut images. However, if the background is mostly white, they don’t bother me. That’s why I used the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and a very light hand of Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink, to blend my sky.

I also colored the white edges around the elements that are in the grass with a G43 Copic marker. The rest of the markers that I used are:

  • Monkey: R37, R35, R33, E21, E000, R20, R01, R37, R35, BG15, BG13
  • Stack of presents: BG15, BG13, BG11, BG10, BG07, BG05, Y17, Y15, R37, R35
  • Mouse: W5, W3, W1, R20, Y17, Y15, R37, R35, BG13, BG11
  • Blue bird: BG07, BG05, Y17, Y15, R37, R35
  • Red and yellow bird: Y17, Y15, R37, R35, YR65, BG13, BG11
  • Cupcake: R35, R33, BG13, BG11, R37, R35
  • Turtle: W5, W3, W1, BG13, BG11
  • Present: BG11, BG10, Y15

Close up of personalized sentiment. Slimline slider card for MFT.

The fun sentiment is from the Party Penguins stamp set. I stamped it with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink onto my grass panel, which I die cut with the Slimline Grassy Hills Die-namics out of Sour Apple Card Stock, splattered with Sour Apple and Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Ink.

For the mechanism, I used the 1/4″ x 7″ slider channel die and 1″ x 7 3/4″ pull tab die included in the Slimline Starter Die-namics. I adhered the critters to the pulltab, through the channel, that I die cut in my main panel, with acetate strips and thin foam squares.

That’s it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you were inspired to join the challenge. HERE’s another slider card of mine that you might enjoy.
