(Muy pronto en español) Ten seconds to liftoff. Nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three… That’s right, for Day 3 of the MFT July Release Countdown, I’ve created an interactive space themed card with the Best Friends in the Universe stamps and matching dies.

I have been wanting to make a card with floating elements for a while… it’s not a new mechanism, nor is it difficult to create and the concept is similar to that of a spinner slider card. However, instead of channels, you can use oval or circular dies or punches, to create a little path or space for the elements to move in. From the animated gif below, you can get an idea of the movement of the cute astronauts.
I won’t go into more details for now, since I might make a video tutorial for this card. Let me just share that I used Lavender Fields, Grape Jelly, Wild Wisteria and Cornflower Premium Dye Inks + Black Licorice Hybrid Ink for the space background.

The stamp set has a bunch of fun sentiments, but I chose this one, which I heat embossed in white, directly onto my 3 7/8″ x 7″ panel, cause you can never have too many Birthday cards in your stash.

I thought it would be fun to link the three characters to the space ship with a tether. So I punched a hole in one of the bolts and inserted a piece of silver string.

That’s it for today. Please let me know in the comments if you would like me to create a tutorial for this card… You’ll find all of today’s featured products in the MFT Blog. See you tomorrow!
